Aspiration Noise Processor

Aspire is the world's first tool for modifying a voice's breathiness independently of its harmonic content. With Aspire, you can match a vocal quality to a performance style by decreasing or increasing a voice's natural breathiness.

Fine-Tune the Noise

Fine-Tune the Noise

Aspire analyzes a vocal in real time and separates the aspiration noise (breathiness) from the harmonic content. It then allows you to adjust the amount of aspiration noise, and affect its character independently by applying a parametric EQ to the noise component.

Real-Time Analysis

Real-Time Analysis Its real-time display lets you visualize the effect of the aspiration noise processing.

Its real-time display lets you visualize the effect of the aspiration noise processing.

Key Features:

  • Modify “breathiness” independently of harmonic content
  • Explore vocal qualities to match performance styles
  • Fine-tune aspiration noise with parametric EQ
  • Real-time effect visualization
  • Seamless integration with Auto-Tune Unlimited

FAQ:

Why Aspire?

Auto-Tune’s Aspire is the first plug-in that allows adding or reducing breathiness in vocal recordings without affecting the voice's harmonic elements. With Aspire, you can easily manipulate the aspiration noise while leaving the voice's natural characteristics untouched, thanks to a sophisticated parametric EQ that'll give you complete control over the amount of effect to apply. The plug-in's dedicated display lets you monitor Aspire's impact on the audio signal in real-time, so you can adjust the aspiration noise processing on the fly and improve your workflow.

What is a noise processor plug-in?

Noise processor plug-ins are effects that allow you to reduce or eliminate unwanted sounds from your recordings. Background noise, hissing sounds from analog gear, and unwanted sounds can be removed thanks to dedicated AIs that can analyze the audio file, remove the targeted noise, and leave the rest of the audio frequencies untouched. A noise suppression plug-in will work within your Digital Audio Workstation, clean up your sound, and help you achieve industry-standard audio quality.

How does Auto-Tune’s Aspire work?

Aspire analyzes in real-time the vocals in your track and separates the aspiration noise from the harmonic features of the singer's voice. You can then modulate the natural breathiness in the track by adjusting Aspire's intuitive controls. First, you'll need to decide whether to increase or decrease the breathiness in your track.

To increase the natural aspiration noise, you can use the Tracking, Increase, Frequency, Q, and Gain controls, while to decrease aspiration noise, you'll have the Tracking and Reduction controls at your disposal. Next, you'll need to select the voice type, which helps Aspire to identify the natural harmonic elements of the voice and leave them unaltered.

Among the options available, you'll find 'Instruments', which can mitigate the breathiness of a musician playing wind instruments like a saxophone, flute, or clarinet. The display will show you how the audio is processed in real-time, with a graph featuring simultaneously the original vocal signal and the amount of breath reduction. With Aspire, you can reduce aspiration noise by 12dB.

Whether you decide to increase or decrease breathiness, Aspire won't affect the voice's natural harmonic characteristics. Furthermore, you can use the parameter EQ to target specific frequencies and the Tracking parameter to compensate for possible control room bleed.
